Hi! I'm Gabby Rodriguez

Hi! I’m so happy to be back after a seven-year break! I’ve been dreaming of this moment for so long, and there were times when I wasn’t sure I would ever restart my photography business. I’m incredibly grateful to finally be here.

First and foremost, I have been a portrait photographer since 2014. I attended Amarillo College, where I studied photography and digital design. I have always been passionate about the art of editing and take great pride in the attention to detail I bring to every image. I do not use AI in any of my photographs. Instead, I personally edit each image with care and intention, because I truly love the process of creating beautiful, timeless photographs.

I’m also thrilled to share that I now live in the state I’ve always dreamed of calling home—New Mexico! My husband, our three children, and our dog and cat have all made the move to Albuquerque, and we couldn’t be more excited!

A little bit more about me:

I deleted my photography website and Instagram account sometime in 2019. Life was pulling me in a different direction, and I knew I needed to step away from my business. In 2017, my husband and I made some life-changing decisions. That fall, we began our homeschooling journey, and just two months later, we moved to Lubbock, Texas. The move came with a lot of sacrifices and significant changes for our family.

I felt incredibly humbled that my clients were willing to make the two-hour drive from Amarillo to Lubbock so I could continue  capturing their portraits. Their willingness to make that drive meant more to me than I can put into words. But eventually, I had to face the reality that I could no longer run my photography business and homeschool three children at the same time. Something had to give. Deleting everything was one of the hardest things I have ever done. My website, my Instagram, my business—everything I had built and poured my heart into was suddenly gone. A part of me died when I deleted it all.

I truly believe that everything in life happens for a reason. For the past seven years, my family needed me, and I know in my heart that I was exactly where I needed to be. With all of the challenges I faced during those years, there is no way I could've successfully balanced them with running a business.  But now, our homeschooling chapter has come to an end!! My oldest son is now in college, he is studying psychiatry, my daughter finished high school, and my youngest son is starting his freshman year at public school. This is such a bittersweet moment for me. I'm incredibly proud of my children and grateful for the years I've been able to spend guiding and educating them. At the same time, I'm excited to enter this next chapter of my life, one where I can finally focus more on myself, my goals, and my career.

During my break from portrait photography, I explored other hobbies. I mastered gardening in Lubbock's difficult , dry, hot, bipolar climate! And I also fell in love with photographing the beautiful landscapes in my native Texas and in my favorite state, New Mexico.

I'm a nature girl! I'm my happiest when I'm outside gardening, hiking, exploring, and photographing the beauty of our land. Follow me on instagram to follow my journey @gabbyrodriguezphoto
